COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Katarina Gimborys from Cecilia, Ky., signed an NAIA Scholarship to join the Lindsey Wilson College women's track & field team, Blue Raider head coach Edwin Hagans announced on Wednesday.

Gimborys is a senior at Central Hardin High School where she recently placed ninth in the 1,600-meter run at regionals in Region Two with a time of six minutes and 23.41 seconds.

She holds personal-best times of 5:17.99 in the 1,500-meter run, 5:32.19 in the 1,600-meters, 11:56.54 in the 3,200-meters and 19:54 in the 5,000-meter run.

"Katarina is an aggressive runner," Hagans said. "When she is able to take charge at key points in a race she will consistently surprise some people."
