WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- Ruth Olson broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing seventh in 15.78 seconds to lead the Lindsey Wilson College women's track & field team to a 10th place finish at the University of the Cumberlands Invitational on Saturday.
Eastern Kentucky University took first place with 184.5 points, Centre (Ky.) College finished second with 115 and Campbellsville (Ky.) University was third with 107.5. The Blue Raiders tallied 29 team points to finish 10th.
Olson also finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of one minute and 9.53 seconds, while sophomore Sharon Ronoh took top honors in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:16.81.
Lindsey Wilson got a pair of top-10 finishes in the 800-meter run as junior Maria Sanchez clocked in ninth in 2:31.44 and newcomer Kaley Dunbar finished 10th with a time of 2:34.46.
The Blue Raiders also got strong showings in multiple throwing events, led by freshman Michelle Mosley coming in fourth in the shot put with a throw of 10.96 meters (35' 11 1/2"), while freshman Katie Hartney placed 11th with a toss of 9.73 meters (31' 11 1/4").
Hartney also tallied a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with an attempt of 33.13 meters (108' 8") and sophomore Anna Sundean finished 13th in the javelin throw with a toss of 20.14 meters (66' 1").
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on April 15 at the Bellarmine University Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
