BEREA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team finished fifth at the 17th annual Southeastern Classic on Saturday hosted by Berea College.
Lindsey Wilson finished with 173 points to finish fifth in the 24-team field.
No. 6-ranked Cedarville (Ohio) University won the event with 39 points.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Stellah Sang finished seventh with a time of 18 minutes and 59 seconds over the 5,000-meter course.
Sophomore Marie Coyon finished in 37th with a time of 20:17, while freshman Monicah Mayio crossed the finish line in 43rd place with a time of 20:23.
Lindsey Wilson senior Meagan Crouse's 20:24 (45th) and sophomore Cassie Niersel's 20:30 (48th) rounds out the Blue Raider top five times.
Freshmen Amanda Johnson (23:02) and Jessica Warren (24:03) finished 116th and 150th as individual runners.
Berry (Ga.) College senior Nicole Degner won the event with a time of 18:13 in the 198-woman field.
On the men's side, Lindsey Wilson sophomore Kojo Hashiyama finished 67th with a time of 28:05 over the 8,000-meter course.
The men's team did not field a complete team, therefore did not receive a team score.
Freshman Drake Midgett finished 115th with a time of 29:36, while sophomore Caleb LaFond finished 124th with a time of 29:59.
Senior John Kalz rounds out the men's harriers with a time of 32:37, good enough for 184th in the 217-man field.
The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday, November 4, as they compete in the Mid-South Conference/NAIA Region XI Championships in Louisville.
