COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team took a 6-0 loss in extra innings before getting even with Brescia (Ky.) University with a pair of three run innings in game two to split with the Bearcats after a 7-1 win on Tuesday at Egnew Park.

Junior Lance Rose got the win on the mound for the Blue Raiders in game two, pitching a complete-game with nine strikeouts, while allowing just three hits. Sophomore right fielder Jeff Kerian paced the Blue Raiders in the win going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Brescia looked to be on its way to a sweep of the Blue Raiders after opening game two with a run in the first inning, however, Lindsey Wilson responded with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning that proved to be enough for the win.

If the three runs in the first inning weren't enough, the three extra runs the Blue Raiders piled on Brescia starter Craig Behnke in the second inning put the Bearcats further out of reach.

Lindsey Wilson added one more run in the bottom of the third inning when junior first baseman Seth Edmunds hit a towering sacrifice fly to center field off of his brother Tyler Edmunds who pitched three innings of relief for Brescia to score sophomore Kyle O'Hara all the way from second base.

Brescia's Tyler Richardson picked up the win in game one, throwing eight innings of two-hit shutout baseball with five strikeouts, while throwing just 68 pitches.

The game was forced into extra innings after neither team could score in regulation. It took all the way to the top of the eighth inning when Brescia exploded for the game-winning six runs.

The Bearcats put together six hits and were walked to drive home the runs. No one connected on more than one hit for Brescia, but center fielder Chris Ward and shortstop Lane Potter both recorded a pair of RBIs in the extra inning.

Junior pitcher Jeremy Greene earned the loss for the Blue Raiders in just an inning of work. The Winchester, Ky., native allowed five earned runs and six hits in the eighth inning. Senior Jose Castro started the game, throwing four innings with no earned runs and just one hit with a strikeout.

Junior designated hitter Lance Harrington and his classmate, second baseman Drew Barrett, tallied the only hits in game one for Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 2 p.m. CT on Friday, March 4 in the Mid-South Conference opener against the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at Egnew Park.
