COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College 2010 graduates Jessica Smith and Krista Burton finished in the top 15 of the American Express Kentucky Women's Open at the Wildwood County Club in Louisville, Ky.
Smith, a Louisville, Ky., native, finished tied for second place with a score of 144, shooting a 72 in both rounds of the event. She was honored as a medalist with the lowest score among amateur golfers.
Smith led the Blue Raiders at the 2010 NAIA National Championship, finishing 13th in the 128-woman field after shooting a four-day total of 312 (79-76-78-79). The senior sank nine birdies through 72 holes, including two in the final round en route to making the all-tournament team.
Burton carded a 154 (79-75) to finish tied for 12th place. The four-time NAIA All-American tied for 60th place at the 2010 national championship with a 331 (81-84-83-83).
Smith was also named an NAIA All-American after last season's NAIA Championship performance.
