COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College athletic director Willis Pooler has announced the hiring of Dan White as the assistant sports information director for Blue Raider athletics.

White joins Lindsey Wilson full time after serving as a graduate assistant for the Blue Raiders last year.

The Lawrenceburg, Ky., native will help manage game-day operations for all Lindsey Wilson sports, as well as write news releases and game recaps. White will also produce media guides and help further implement video and new media such as "LWC All-Access" into the athletic department website.

"Dan's performance as our graduate assistant in sports information last year was excellent," Lindsey Wilson athletic director Willis Pooler said. "It was clear he should be hired as the college's first full-time assistant sports information director. He understands our mission and is committed to serving our student-athletes and institution."

Prior to joining Lindsey Wilson, White served as a communications assistant for the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. The 2007 graduate of the University of Louisville served as the primary media contact for volleyball, softball, cross country, swimming and diving, tennis and rowing at the BIG EAST, while also assisting with football and men's basketball.

White served as the media relations director for numerous BIG EAST Championships working with ESPN and CBS College Sports to ensure accurate coverage of the events, while also updating the conference web site and helping implement live blogging for the first time at conference championships.

Before joining the BIG EAST, White spent four years as a student assistant for the sports information office at the University of Louisville. He worked with the Cardinals' men's soccer program in 2007, accompanying the team throughout its run through the BIG EAST and NCAA tournaments and worked extensively with Louisville's online broadcasts in baseball, volleyball, softball and field hockey.

White also holds a wealth of volunteer experience in media relations after working for the NBA's Boston Celtics and MLS' New England Revolution as their statistics representative for PA Sports Ticker in 2009.

White also served the NCAA as a Blog Coordinator during the 2009 Women's Basketball Tournament and served as a game-day assistant for the Providence (R.I.) College men's and women's basketball teams.
