Softball plays its final game of NAIA pool play at 11:30 a.m. CT on Monday against Bellevue University.

DECATUR, Ala. -- The complete scenario for the Lindsey Wilson College softball team to advance to the round of eight at the NAIA National Championship is full of ifs and maybes, however the whole plan starts with beating Bellevue (Neb.) University at 11:30 a.m. CT on Monday at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex.

A loss to Bellevue - which is 0-2 in pool play - would eliminate the Blue Raiders from advancing with a 1-2 record. Beating Bellevue would give Lindsey Wilson a 2-1 record and would force it to wait and see the results between Simon Fraser (B.C.) University and Concordia (Ore.) University to see if it advances to the next round.

Simon Fraser - 2-0 in pool play - plays Concordia - 1-1 in pool action - at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. If the Clan win and improve to 3-0 they will advance out of Lindsey Wilson's pool to the eight-team double elimination section of nationals.

If a scenario occurs where Lindsey Wilson, Simon Fraser and Concordia all finish pool play with a 2-1 record, the advancing team will be chosen by run differential from every game played in the pool.

The Blue Raiders currently hold a plus-two differential, while Simon Fraser is at plus-six and Concordia stands at minus-three.

Bellevue (32-16) enters Monday's contest with Lindsey Wilson (46-14) mathematically eliminated from advancing out of pool play. The Bruins opened play at the championship with a 3-2 loss in nine innings against Concordia on Thursday, followed by a 4-0 loss to Simon Fraser on Saturday.

The Bruins qualified for their fourth appearance at the NAIA National Championship after claiming the Midlands Collegiate Athletics Conference Tournament title. Bellevue shut out York College 7-0 behind a one-hitter from pitcher Alissa Crumley.

Junior outfielder Jessica Guyle is the offensive leader for the Bruins with a .407 batting average with 28 stolen bases, 25 RBIs and 13 doubles.

Senior first baseman Katie Lefler is the biggest threat to hit the long ball. Lefler has a team-high seven home runs this season, while putting together just a .273 batting average. Sophomore outfielder Erica McCoy is also a threat in the base paths with 23 stolen bases in 25 attempts.

If Lindsey Wilson advances out of Pool C, it will play its next game at 9 p.m. on Monday against the winner of Pool F at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex.
