After day one of nationals, cycling is in 20th place in the team omnium standings.

Madison, Wis. -- Contesting a portion of the proposed 2016 Olympic road-race course on Friday at the 2010 USA Cycling Road National Championships the Lindsey Wilson College cycling team finished 20th out of 51 Division-I teams.

With over 350 riders taking to the severely wet and cold conditions at Blue Mound State Park, Lindsey Wilson's Kip Spaude led the team, finishing 17th in the men's road race with a time of three hours, 24 minutes and 45 seconds.

The only other Blue Raider finisher was Christopher Bogedin in 49th place with a time of 3:45:09.

In the team ominum standings -- which consists of the top three finishes for each team -- Lees-Mcrea (N.C.) College led the pack with 158 points, followed by the University of California-Davis in second with 126 points and the University of Colorado-Boulder in third (105 points.).

Racing continues on Saturday with the men's and women's criteriums around downtown Madison's Capitol Square. The day's events are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. CT.
