COLUMBIA, Ky. -- With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's basketball teams hope to build momentum heading into postseason play.
A definite momentum builder would be winning today as Georgetown (Ky.) College comes to Biggers Sports Center. The women's game tips off at 2 p.m. CT and the men's game follows at approximately 4 p.m. CT.
Both games can be heard on 1270 WAIN-AM beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT with the women's pregame show.
Both Blue Raiders teams hope to avenge earlier season losses to the Tigers. The Georgetown women defeated Lindsey Wilson 75-57 on Feb. 1, while the Tiger men handed the Blue Raiders a 69-41 loss in Georgetown.
In the women's game, the Blue Raiders must contend with the balanced scoring attack of the Lady Tigers. Six different Lady Tigers scored at least eight points in the first meeting this season led by sophomore Mikkah Rogers' 17 points.
Lindsey Wilson hopes that a healthy squad will make a difference this time around.
Junior Viktoria Krell struggled in the first meeting with a sprained wrist while senior Sierra Rambert didn't score after suffering an injury eight minutes into the game. Both are back healthy for today's game.
The Lindsey Wilson men try to bounce back from the 28-point loss in Georgetown in what coach Paul Peck called "one of the three worst performances of the season."
Not a single Blue Raider scored in double figures en route to the loss, while probable all-conference selections in senior Hollis Giles and sophomore Vick Moses combined for 28 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.
