COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball program released its 2010 schedule today.

The Blue Raiders are scheduled to play 38 of their 57 games at their new home adjacent to the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. Lindsey Wilson played an abbreviated schedule at the new park last season.

Lindsey Wilson opens its season on Friday, Feb. 12, as the Blue Raiders travel to Union (Tenn.) University in Jackson, Tenn. The Blue Raiders open their home schedule on Friday, Feb. 19 as they host Spring Arbor (Mich.) University in a doubleheader.

First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m. CT.

During the season, Lindsey Wilson faces three nationally ranked teams and five more receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Blue Raiders travel to No. 8-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) University for a four game series and play home-and-home with No. 16-ranked Union (Ky.) College and No. 19-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) University.

"Our philosophy has always been to play a challenging schedule to better prepare us for tournament play," LWC baseball coach Mike Talley said. "We're excited about the quality of teams on our schedule. We will have to come to the park everyday ready to play against great competition."

In addition to its strong non-conference scheduled, Lindsey Wilson must contend with an expanded, eight-team Mid-South Conference.

The Blue Raiders travel to Campbellsville -- the MSC preseason favorite -- University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) and Georgetown (Ky.) College.

Lindsey Wilson hosts Pikeville (Ky.) College, West Virginia University Tech, St. Catharine (Ky.) College and MSC newcomer University of Rio Grande (Ohio) in both team's conference opener on March 12-13.

"Conference play should be exciting to watch this season," Talley said. "There are a number of really good teams that are capable of winning the league."

Talley's confident he will have a pretty good feel of whether his team will be one of those teams with a baker's dozen of games prior to conference play.

"I really like our team and we've provided them with a tough test each and every game we play this season. It should be a lot of fun for our team and our fans."
