Sophomore Rachael Anderson collected 16 digs in the first round MSC Tournament win over Cumberlands.

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Junior Racheal Achieng posted a team-high 14 kills and freshman Ashlie Haworth added 13 to lead No. 4-seed Lindsey Wilson College past No. 5-seed University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), 3-1, in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Tuesday at the Frankfort Civic Center.

The Blue Raiders led 2-0 in the match, but dropped the third set before ultimately winning 25-13, 25-14, 23-25, 25-16.

Achieng and Haworth paced a Lindsey Wilson attack that led Cumberlands in kills 42-31. Cumberlands posted just a .013 hitting percentage, while Lindsey Wilson hit .148 for the match.

The Blue Raiders were credited with 14 blocks as Achieng led the way with four solo blocks. Cumberlands sent back 10 attacks with Erika Barnes pacing the team with five total blocks.

Senior Sarah Kline dished out 31 assists, collected 16 digs and had two service aces for the Blue Raiders. Freshman Andrea Taylor and Haworth also served two aces each.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 11 against No. 1-seed Georgetown (Ky.) College in the semifinals of the MSC Tournament in Frankfort, Ky.
