FRESNO, Calif. -- Three Lindsey Wilson College track & field student-athletes competed today on the final day of the NAIA Outdoor National Championships.
Lindsey Wilson senior Jamaine Gordon scored two points in the men's triple jump with a seventh place finish.
Lindsey Wilson junior Sammy Maiyo finished fifth in the men's 5,000-meter run to add four points to the Blue Raider men's total.
Gordon jumped 14.79 meters (48-8.75 feet) in his third jump to earn the seventh place finish.
Dickinson State (N.D.) University freshman Dominic Goodman won the triple jump national championship with a jump of 15.48 meters (50-9.50 feet).
Maiyo finished the 5,000 meters in 15 minutes and 3.20 seconds.
Virginia Intermont College senior David Cheromei won the event with a time of 14:31.31.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Kojo Hashiyama finished 32nd in the men's marathon.
Hashiyama finished with a time of 2:47:54.73 in the 51-man field.
Concordia (Calif.) University senior Marco Venancio set a track record with a time of 2:21:57.34 to win the men's marathon national championship.
The Lindsey Wilson men finished the national championships with 12 team points and the women ended with four points.
