Charles Martin has signed a national letter-of-intent to participate in cross country and track and field next season.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College signed Charles Martin to an NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Friday.

Martin, a Muhlenburg County, native, will join the Blue Raiders and participate in cross country and track and field in the 2009-10 season.

 

"Charles is a motivated individual that will be a tremendous asset for Lindsey Wilson," Lindsey Wilson College head coach Edwin Hagans said. "I believe he will take every opportunity given to him to improve his performance over the next four years and be a big contributor to our program."

Martin ran the 5,000 meter run in 17 minutes and 55 seconds for the Muhlenburg North High School cross country team this past season. He also ran the 800 meter run for Muhlenburg North at the state track and field meet in 2:03.24.
