Third baseman Max Rhodes hit a double and a home run to drive in four runs during today's double header

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team was swept in a doubleheader against the Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University today at Blue Raider Field.

Freed-Hardeman (30-13) used a six-run fifth inning to break open the game en route to a 12-3 victory.

Lindsey Wilson pitcher Cody Wales (2-4) threw five innings allowing six earned runs to pick up the loss.

Third baseman Max Rhodes connected on a two-run home run, his fourth of the season.

In game two, Lindsey Wilson (15-25) allowed Freed-Hardeman to score early and often as the Lions capitalized on three Blue Raider errors to win 13-4.

Pitcher Ethan Utley (13) threw three innings allowing nine runs -- eight earned -- and recorded two strikeouts. Rhodes drove in two more runs with a double in the third inning.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action for the opening round of the Mid-South Conference tournament at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 25, against West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Georgetown, Ky. The winner of that game plays the No. 1-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) University at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday.
