Kasey Litzinger signed a national letter-of-intent to play basketball for Lindsey Wilson in the 2009-10 season.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team has signed Kasey Litzinger to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Monday.

Litzinger, a Mason County native, will primarily play shooting guard but will also see time at point guard for the Blue Raiders in the 2009-10 season.

"I am very excited about Kasey joining the basketball program here at Lindsey Wilson," Lindsey Wilson women's basketball coach John B. Wethington said. "She has a great love for the game and is a tremendous competitor. Kasey will fit in great on our team."

Litzinger who currently is taking classes at the University of Kentucky is very excited to join Lindsey Wilson and begin her basketball career.

"This was a great opportunity that I could not pass up," said Litzinger. "Coach (Wethington) was contacting me everyday, he showed a strong commitment to me and that was important in my selection process."

Litzinger plans on becoming a guidance counselor upon graduation at Lindsey Wilson.

Lindsey Wilson finished 25-9 last season advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament before losing to top-ranked Union (Tenn.) University.
