COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College football program has added 24 commitments for the 2009-10 school year, the school announced on Wednesday.

The commitments will redshirt during the upcoming season as the Blue Raiders get set to kick off their inaugural season in the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference in 2010.

The future Blue Raiders join the original 19 commitments to bring the total of 43 committed to Lindsey Wilson head coach Chris Oliver.

"I'm very pleased that these young men have decided to join the Blue Raider football program," Oliver said. "Our initial recruiting efforts have been productive, and these 24 student-athletes complement the initial group of signees very well. The overall group continues to be balanced by position, which is always a challenge as you build a roster from scratch.We have been able to attract some talented individuals who will continue to develop with a year in our offseason program.

"It's exciting to see how this group of student-athletes has come together over the past few months. With 43 commitments as of today, the foundation of the Lindsey Wilson College football program is beginning to take shape."

Lindsey Wilson's first game is scheduled for Sept. 4, 2010, at home.
