BEREA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College track & field team competed in the Berea College Outdoor Invitational over the weekend with the men finishing second and women finishing third.
The men earned 117 points to finish 176 points behind first place, while the women earned 102 points to finish 42 points out of first place. Berea (Ky.) College finished first in both the men's and women's outdoor competition.
For the men, Lindsey Wilson junior Zanman Graham finished in second place in the men's 100 meter dash. Graham finished with a time of 11.38 to earn eight points for the Blue Raiders.
Graham finished first in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 22.38 as he earned 10 points for the Blue Raiders'.
Blue Raider sophomore Christopher Cecil earned 10 points in his first place finish in the men's 400 meter dash. Cecil finished with a time of 51.12.
Junior Sammy Maiyo completed a time of 32:23.74 in the men's 10,000 meter run to take first place. Maiyo earned 10 points for the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson junior Emmanuel Isanda competed in three events on Saturday. Isanda finished second in the 400 meter hurdles, fourth in the men's shot put and third in the men's javelin throw earning 18 total points for the Blue Raiders.
Senior Jamaine Gordon competed in the men's long jump and men's triple jump on Saturday. Gordon earned third place in the long jump and picked up first place in the triple jump earning the Blue Raiders 16 points for the day.
Lindsey Wilson junior Cody Brooks competed in three events on Saturday. Brooks earned first place in the men's shot put and the men's discus throw, and he earned second place in the men's hammer throw earning 28 points overall for the Blue Raiders.
In the women's competition, Lindsey Wilson junior Amber Canon finished second in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 27.08, and first place in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.30. Canon earned 18 points for the Blue Raiders in two events.
Blue Raider freshman Stellah Sang picked up 20 points on the day for her first place finishes in the women's 800 meter run and 1500 meter run.
Senior Meagan Crouse finished the day with eight total points in two events.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Amanda Johnson finished first in the women's 3,000 meters race walk with a time of 16:01.35 earning 10 points for the Blue Raiders.
Johnson, a Morganfield, Kentucky, native, set the new school record by more than 25 seconds.
Sophomore Marie Coyon finished the day earning Lindsey Wilson 20 points for her two first place finishes in the women's 10,000 meter run and the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Coyon, a Versailles, France, native, set the new mark of 38:29.64, beating the old school record by more than two and a half minutes.
Sophomore Cassie Niersel earned 12 points for the Blue Raiders in two events. Niersel finished third in the women's 800 meter run, and the women's 1,500 meter run.
The women's 4x800 meter relay team took first place with a time of 10:10.18 earning the Blue Raiders 10 points.
The Blue Raiders' will return to action on March 23-24 as they travel to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Emory Inviational hosted by Emory University.
