COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College has signed Evan Crowdus to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Thursday.

The Morganfield, Ky., native, was selected as the 2007 USA Track & Field Kentucky 2007 Male Youth Athlete of the Year and Male Race Walker of the Year.

Crowdus is a two-time member of the national junior race walk team and a two-time Nike outdoor national champion.

"Evan is another outstanding addition to our race walk program," Lindsey Wilson track & field coach Edwin Hagans said. "He will be practicing with others of like qualities and passions. He is one of the top high school race walkers in the country."

Crowdus is a four-time high school All-American and twice named USATF All-American. He is a three-time AAU race walk champion and twice a 2-time USATF race walk champion.

"One of my goals is to have the opportunity to coach premier athletes," Hagans said. "With the overall talent of our race walkers, I get that chance."
