EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Amanda Johnson claimed the first point for the track and field team today at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships at Ralph Korte Stadium.

Johnson finished eighth in the 15-woman 3,000 meter Race Walk with a time of 16 minutes and 19.61 seconds. The Morganfield, Ky., native, scored a single point for women's track and field team.

Johnson was the lone qualifier from the women's team for the national championship.

Lindsey Wilson will finish with the one point in the championships.

University of British Columbia's Megan Huzzey won the national title with a time 14:12.12.

On Thursday, the Lindsey Wilson men's 4x100 relay team finished sixth in the one of the four preliminaries with a time of 42.64 seconds.

The time fell short of the 16 times that qualified for the semifinals.

Lindsey Wilson junior Koji Hashiyama competes in the men's marathon on Saturday to conclude the Blue Raiders outdoor nationals.
