SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team climbed one spot into a tie for sixth at the NAIA National Championships at Lake San Marcos Country Club.
The Blue Raiders fired a 328 today over the 5,961 yard par 72 course. Lindsey Wilson (316-331-328) is tied for sixth with Lubbock Christian (Texas) University (326-323-326) with a team-total of 975.
Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University leads after round three with a team-total of 941 (320-313-308). The Eagles are the third different leader of the tournament in the first three rounds.
Oklahoma City University is one shot back in second place with a team-total of 942 (318-315-309). First round leader and host California State University San Marcos is third with a 951 (311-326-314) and second round leader University of British Columbia is fourth with a 952 (318-312-322).
Bethel (Ind.) College is fifth with a 965 (327-316-322).
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Jessica Smith leads the Blue Raiders with a three-round total of 238 (75-82-81). The Louisville native is tied for 11th following today's nine-over par 81 (38-43).
Defending NAIA individual champion and sophomore Krista Burton is tied for 31st with a 243 (75-85-83) while senior Beth Cooper is tied for 42nd with a 246 (81-81-84).
Senior Jessica Robertson posted the Blue Raiders' top round of the day with an 80. The Russell Springs, Ky., native is tied for 48th with a 248 (85-83-80).
Junior Aline Decker is tied for 102nd with a 272 (94-90-88).
Embry-Riddle's Tara Allen leads the tournament with a 227 (76-74-77).
