MOBILE, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team advanced into the national semifinals today with a 5-0 win over California Baptist University at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.

The third-seeded Blue Raiders advance to their third straight national semifinal to face No. 2-seed Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday. Fresno Pacific advanced to the semifinals with an identical 5-0 win over Berry (Ga.) College.

Lindsey Wilson easily claimed all three doubles points winning the three matches by a combined total of 24-4.

Blue Raider senior Candela Castanon and sophomore Jessica Weyreuter did not drop a game en route to an 8-0 win over CBU's Marcela Montanha and Dunya Wren in No. 1 doubles. Lindsey Wilson junior Fadzai Mawisire and freshman Darya Yablonskaya and sophomore Agnieszka Wojtowicz and freshman Laurie Anciaux each won their matches 8-2.

In the singles, Castanon won at the No. 1 singles position in straight sets over Barbara Oliviera 6-2, 6-1. Wojtowicz's 6-2, 6-1 win over Jessica Roddy at No. 6 singles ended the match and sent the Blue Raiders (17-3) into the semifinals.

The remaining matches were halted after the Blue Raiders reached five points.

Lindsey Wilson seeks the program's first-ever appearance into the national finals. The Blue Raiders have lost their last two semifinal matches to four-time national champion and top-seed Auburn University Montgomery (Ala.).

AUM and No. 4-seed Vanguard play in the other national semifinal.

Both matches are scheduled for 9 a.m. CT.
