Blake Walker (second from right) signs with Lindsey Wilson cycling for the 2008-09 season.

DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College cycling team has signed Blake Walker to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Wednesday.

The Danville, Ky., native, will participate in the disciplines of mountain bike and road while at Lindsey Wilson.

"I was fortunate to work as Blake's cycling coach when he first began mountain biking," Lindsey Wilson cycling coach David Grigsby said. "He is easily one of the most genuine and hard working cyclists any coach could ask for."

Walker won the 2006 Kentucky Points Series, the Bluegrass State Games and earned a fourth place finish at the Kentucky High School State Championships.

"Blake is a very promising cyclist who has been part of the Kentucky mountain bike scene for years," Grigsby said. "He races both road and mountain bike. We're excited that Blake will be competing in both disciplines as a Blue Raider."

Lindsey Wilson Cycling returns to action May 9-11 as they participate in the USA Cycling Road Nationals in Fort Collins, Colo.
