COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team has signed Paki Brown to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Wednesday.
Brown, a Kenosha, Wis., native, will join the Blue Raider program for his junior season in 2008-09.
"Paki is very skilled with the basketball with an incredible wing span," Lindsey Wilson men's basketball coach Paul Peck said. "Not only is he a very good athlete, he is a very personable young man that our fans will love."
Brown, a 6-foot-10 center, is a transfer from Chabot (Calif.) College.
Brown earned first team All Coast Conference and led the state of California in block shots during his 2006-07 freshman season. Last season he averaged 8.5 points and eight rebounds per game. He also averaged 3.5 blocks per contest.
"Paki will be a very good center in the Mid-South Conference and his presence in the post will allow us to play the man-to-man defense that we have been good at for so many years," Peck said. "Expect him to have a great career as a Blue Raider."
Lindsey Wilson finished the 2007-08 season with a 16-15 record.
