WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's track and field team finished third on Saturday at the Mid-South Conference Championships hosted by the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
The Blue Raiders scored 152 team points in the seven team event. Shorter (Ga.) College won the team championships with 251 team points, while Cumberlands claimed second with 178 points.
Lindsey Wilson freshman David Mutuse led 12 Blue Raider individuals that scored in the meet. Mututse recorded 20 points in three events, including 10 points for a win in the 10,000 meter run.
Mutuse crossed the line with a time of 32 minutes and 22.40 seconds -- a full 1:14 ahead of his nearest competitor.
The Wote-Makueni, Kenya, native, also recorded a third in the 5,000 meters (15:56.17) and a fifth place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:09.90).
Junior Antonio Logowood earned the Blue Raiders 19 points on the afternoon with a pair of second place finishes in the long and triple jump. Junior Cody Brooks and freshman Christopher Kipchirchir each scored 14 individual points toward the team's total.
