COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College cycling team competed at the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference Region Championships over the weekend in Wisconsin.
On Saturday in Milwaukee, the Blue Raiders scored 60 points to finish 13th out of the 24 teams in the road portion of the weekend hosted by Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Stefan Swecker finished 16th in the 80-mile men's "A" race to earn the Blue Raiders 14 team points. Freshman Jake Zimmerman finished 37th in the 45-man race.
Freshman James Brown earned the Blue Raiders two points following his 12th place finish in the men's "C" race.
In the 50-mile women's "A" race, senior Jean Schneider (13th) and freshman Sarah Lukas (16th) combined for 44 points to lead the team.
On Sunday, the Lindsey Wilson men and women collectively finished seventh with 234 points in the Team Time Trials.
The men's team consisting of Swecker, Zimmerman and sophomore Kip Spaude finished fourth in the men's "A" team trial with a time of 23 minutes and 16 seconds. The men earned 136 points for their fourth place finish over the 10-mile course.
The women's team consisting of Lukas and Schneider finished sixth in the nine-team field with a time of 30:24. The Lindsey Wilson pair scored 98 points despite competing against four-woman teams.
In Sunday's Criterium, the Blue Raiders finished with 42 team points and a 14th place finish.
