BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Lindsey Wilson College track & field team continued their assault on the program's record books with six more school records over the weekend at Indiana University.

The Lindsey Wilson track & field women combined to set five school records during their final warm-up to the NAIA National Indoor Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee, on March 3-5. The Blue Raider men provided one school record and three first place finishes during the meet.
On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson freshman Sashsheena Stewart ran the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.29 seconds to establish the school record on the women's side.

Blue Raider freshman Amber Cannon obliterated her own school record in the 400-meters with a time of 1:01.68. Her previous mark was 1:03.67.

The Blue Raider women's 4x400 meter team of Cannon, sophomore Meagan Crouse and freshmen Maja Krgo Kamila Bocian ran a 4:07.59 relay to set the record.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Anine Stanley became the first woman to compete in the 3,000-meter racewalk in program history. Her time of 16:55 set the standard and qualified her for the national championships.

Lindsey Wilson senior Tiarra Cecil broke her own school mark in the weight throw with a toss of 42 feet 5 1/2 inches. She bested her previous mark by nearly three feet.

The final record broken over the weekend came from the men's team as freshman Cody Brooks bested his own mark in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet 8 inches.

Other highlights from the Lindsey Wilson track and field team:

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Jamaine Gordon won the men's long jump and triple jump. Gordon jumped 22 feet 9 3/4 inches in the long jump to win by six inches over his nearest competitor. In the triple jump, Gordon's distance of 47 feet 10 inches beat second place by seven inches.

Lindsey Wilson junior Ian Lindo automatically qualified for the indoor nationals in the 200-meter dash following a first-place finish in the event. Lindo ran the 200-meters in 22.20 seconds.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Sammy Maiyo, 3,000-meters, and Lindo, 400-meter dash, each improved their qualifying marks for the indoor nationals. Maiyo ran the 3,000-meters in 8:45.92 and Lindo ran the 400-meter dash in 49.79.

Lindsey Wilson's next competition finishes the indoor season on March 3-5 at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee.
