LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College tennis teams grabbed a majority of the honors tonight at the Mid-South Conference tennis banquet.

Lindsey Wilson College senior Candela Castanon was named the MSC women's singles tennis player of the year while sophomore Freddy Luciani shared men's singles tennis player of the year.

Castanon and sophomore Jessica Weyreuter were named women's doubles team of the year and Luciani and junior Eddie Kahn were named men's doubles team of the year.

Lindsey Wilson coach Chuck Amshoff is the women's tennis coach of the year.

All the conference honors were voted on by the Mid-South Conference coaches.

Castanon earns her fourth consecutive singles player of the year award with this season's selection. The three-time All-American is unbeaten in conference play in her stellar four-year career.

Weyreuter, sophomore Fadzai Mawisire and freshman Darya Yablonskaya join Castanon on the all-conference singles team. Mawisire and Yablonskaya join Castanon and Weyreuter on the all-conference doubles team. Sophomore Agnieszka Wojtowicz was named singles honorable mention all-conference.

Luciani earns his first conference player of the year honors after being named all-conference as a freshman last season. Luciani shares the award with Georgetown (Ky.) College's Matias Carcamo.

Khan and freshman Andrews Moraes were named to the singles all-conference team. Moraes and freshman Andre Santos joined Luciani and Kahn on the all-conference doubles team. Santos was also named singles honorable mention all-conference.

The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's tennis teams begin Mid-South Conference Tournament play on Thursday in the conference semifinals.

The Blue Raider women face the winner of Campbellsville (Ky.) University and West Virginia Tech in the MSC semifinals at 1 p.m. CT at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville. The men also play the winner of Campbellsville and West Virginia Tech at 12:30 p.m. CT at Bass-Rudd.
