ATLANTA, Ga.-- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's track & field teams finished eighth and 12th at the Emory (Ga.) University Invitational.
The Blue Raider men scored 47.5 points to finish eighth in the 23-team field. Host Emory won the men's side with 206.5 points.
University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) University joined the Blue Raiders as the other Mid-South Conference teams to compete.
Cumberlands finished 10th with 33.5 points, and Campbellsville finished tied for 18th with six points.
Lindsey Wilson senior Jamaine Gordon scored 18 points with a first-place finish in the triple jump (14.55 meters) and second in the long jump (6.68 meters).
Junior Sammy Maiyo earned 10 points for his win in the 10,000-meter run. He ran the distance in 32:19.69.
The Lindsey Wilson women finished 12th out of 18 teams with a team-total 24 points.
Cumberlands finished ninth with 30 points, and Campbellsville finished 16th with 10 points.
Freshman Stella Sang led the women with 18 points. She won her heat in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:46.84 and scored eight points in the 800-meter run (2:16.12).
Freshman Grace Korir added 11 points by winning her heat in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:06.73. She scored one point with a time of 2:27.18 in the 800-meter run.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 7 as the Blue Raiders travel to the Oliver Nikoloff Classic, hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
