WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's track & field team competed on Saturday at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Spring Invite.
The Lindsey Wilson men scored 79 team points to finish third in the 14-team field. The Blue Raider women scored 35 points to finish 10th in the 16-team field.
Lindsey Wilson junior Koji Hashiyama scored 10 points with his win in the 10,000 meter run. Hashiyama ran the 10,000 meters in 34 minutes and 12.03 seconds to beat his nearest competitor by 10 seconds.
The Lindsey Wilson 4x800 meter relay team finished second to earn eight points while setting a school record. The quartet of senior Emmanuel Isanda and freshmen Brad Bilbro, Silas Kosgey and Jerome Thomas set the new mark with a time of 8:27.27.
Lindsey Wilson senior Cody Brooks and junior Antonio Logwood each contributed 11 points as the pair scored in two different events.
Brooks scored six points with his third place finish in the shot put (12.80 meters) and five points for his fourth place finish in the discus (40.27m). Logwood scored in each the long jump (6.65m) and triple jump (13.44m).
Host Cumberlands won the event with 110 points.
On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson senior Amber Cannon captured the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.07. Cannon earned 10 points for the win. The Bowling Green, Ky., native added a six additional points for a third place finish in the 200m dash (26.99) to lead the Blue Raider scoring.
Lindsey Wilson junior Marie Coyon scored nine points over two events.
Coyon scored eight points for her second place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase. She finished the event with a time of 12:36.68. Coyon also scored a single point in the 400m hurdles with her time of 1:21.79.
Milligan (Tenn.) College won the women's team event with 92 points.
