COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College junior first baseman Daniel Eck drove in the game-winning run in the eighth inning to beat Campbellsville (Ky.) University 7-6 today at Raider Field.

The game, originally scheduled as a doubleheader at Campbellsville, was moved to Raider Field on Lindsey Wilson’s campus due to heavy rains in the area.

The Blue Raiders improve to 11-6 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference with the win. Campbellsville falls to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Lindsey Wilson scored six runs in the top of the third inning to erase a 2-0 deficit. Sophomore third baseman Zach Pritchard’s two-run single capped the six-run inning and gave the Blue Raiders a 6-2 lead.

Campbellsville chipped away at the Lindsey Wilson lead scoring a run in each of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to tie the game at 6-6.

Eck’s two-out game-winning double in the top of the eighth sent the Blue Raiders to their fifth straight win.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore reliever Cody Wales picked up the win allowing just one hit in three innings of work.

Junior centerfielder Nathan Bray collected a pair of hits, scored a run and drove in another to lead the Blue Raider bats.

Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville conclude the weekend series with a scheduled doubleheader beginning at noon CT on Sunday, March 16, at Raider Field.
