COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 3 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis opens the 2014 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship on Wednesday, May 14 at 9 a.m. CT in Mobile, Ala at the Mobile Tennis Center, the national office announced on Tuesday.
The NAIA Women's Tennis National Championships open on Tuesday, May 13 with eight first round matches starting at 9 a.m. CT. The second round starts on Wednesday at 9 a.m. CT with the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 15. The semifinals are held on Friday, May 16 with the finals on Saturday, May 17, all at 9 a.m. CT.
Third-seeded Lindsey Wilson (15-4) won the Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles and received the conference's automatic bid and a first round bye in the NAIA national championships. The Blue Raiders face the winner of the Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) and Milligan (Tenn.) match in the second round on Wednesday, May 14 at 9 a.m. CT.
In the bottom half of the Lindsey Wilson draw, Indiana – Southeast faces Oklahoma Baptist with the winner playing sixth-seed Brenau (Ga.).
Top-seed Xavier (La.), second-seed Georgia Gwinnett, fourth-seed Auburn (Ala.) Montgomery, fifth-seed Embry-Riddle, seventh-seed Savannah College of Art and Design – Savannah (Ga.) and eighth-seed Vanguard (Calif.) are the other six teams that receive a first round bye in the NAIA Tennis National Championships.
