COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson women's tennis is still ranked No. 3 as the national office released the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the regular season on Monday.
The Blue Raiders (15-4) won the Mid-South Conference regular season and captured the MSC Tournament title on April 26 with a 5-0 win over then-No. 21 Campbellsville (Ky.). Lindsey Wilson received a first-place vote and 321 points in the poll and are unbeaten in NAIA competition. The team is riding a 12-game winning streak and received an automatic bid to the national championship, scheduled for May 13-17.
Xavier (La.) is ranked first in the nation with 12 first-place votes and 343 points. Georgia Gwinnett is No. 2 with 331 points.
Campbellsville earned 90 points and are ranked No. 24. Georgetown (Ky.), Cumberlands (Ky.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) are receiving votes with 52, 15 and six points respectively.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings. The postseason Coaches' Top 25 Poll will be released on May 21.
