COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Five student-athletes from Lindsey Wilson are set to compete in the 2012 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships starting Thursday and lasting through Saturday in Marion, Ind.
The championships are hosted on the Indiana Wesleyan campus for the third straight year with the men taking part in 61st annual championship and the women taking part in their 32nd annual event.
Blue Raiders in the men's field include Takudzwa Mhlanga in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries and brothers Ricardo and Roberto Vergara competing in the 5,000-meter race walk.
Mhlanga is seeded 29th in the hurdle field, while Ricardo is seeded fourth and Roberto sixth among the race walkers.
On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson's Sharon Ronoh is in the field for both the 5,000-meter run preliminaries and 10,000-meter run. Reini Brickson is the lone Blue Raider in the 5,000-meter race walk.
Both Ronoh and Brickon are seeded third in all three events.
Live scoring is available for each event at the NAIA Championship Central page. Mhlanga kicks things off for Lindsey Wilson at 2:40 p.m. CT on Thursday with the 110-meter hurdles, followed by Ronoh ending the day at 9:20 p.m. with the 10,000-meter run.
The three Blue Raider race walkers are on the track at 2:05 p.m. on Friday with the 5,000-meter run semifinals to follow at 7:30 p.m.
