GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College sports information director Chris Wells has been selected by his peers as the 2011-12 Mid-South Conference Sports Information Director of the Year.

The honor is the sixth for Wells since becoming the sports information director at Lindsey Wilson during the 2001-02 academic year.

"I wish to thank my colleagues within the MSC for selecting me for this prestigious award," Wells said. "I'm fortunate to work for an institution and with people that supports me personally and professionally."

Wells received the honor from MSC commissioner Steve Baker at the conference's annual summer meeting at the Thomas & King Leadership & Conference Center at the Georgetown College Athletic Complex on Tuesday.

Wells was also selected as the conference's sports information director of the year during the 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years.

The Lindsey Wilson sports information department is in charge of the athletics website lindseyathletics.com. In addition to the website, the sports information department handles all of the athletic department press releases, statistics and administration of all of the athletic department's social media.

In addition to his sports information duties, Wells serves as the department's assistant athletic director and the voice of Blue Raider athletics. He also serves as the MSC sports information director.
