KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Lindsey Wilson College junior Leandro Perez has been named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Baseball Honorable Mention All-American, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

The Santiago, Dominican Republic, native is one of 35 honorable mention selections.

Perez helped the Blue Raiders to a program-record 43 wins in 2012 and the program's first-ever MSC regular season title and its first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.

Perez becomes the fifth LWC baseball student-athlete to earn NAIA All-American honors.
