KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Kaitlin Allan has been named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics First-Team All-American, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Allan concluded the 2011-12 season with a 78.2 stroke average in her 20 rounds. She won one tournament this season and finished in the top-five in six of nine tournaments.

The Edmonton, Alberta, native is one of 15 first team selections and the lone pick from the Mid-South Conference.

Allan capped her season with an 18th place finish at the NAIA National Championships last week at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn. She concluded the four-day tournament with a stroke total of 305 (79-72-77-77) to miss the all-tournament team -- reserved for the top 15 scores and ties -- by four strokes.

Allan becomes the fourth LWC women's golfer and the seventh overall selection to earn first-team national honors.

Golfers were selected by the All-America committee.
